Australian Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese stated that it’s “a new dawn for Australia's defence policy” as the government promises the deal will boost jobs across the defence force and public service.

At the peak of the AUKUS deal, it is estimated that it will support almost 8,500 direct jobs to build and sustain the submarines. Australia’s base will be the second in history to be granted access to this highly sensitive US nuclear technological given the ability to handle, build and sustain this sensitive technology.
