Over the las three decades the amount of people working multiple jobs has doubled from 433,00 to 896,000 in Australia alone. 

Experts say this increase has only worsened since the pandemic as workplace search for more employees and the cost of living rises.

In addition to traditional workplaces up taking many workers with multiple jobs, the digital workforce is also growing.

Flexible working arrangements have resulted in more people searching for employment where they can work remotely and around other commitments.

This includes the gig economy which has seen a boom in the pandemic as people search for more flexible working arrangements.

Should you up take a second job? 

A second job can be a great opportunity to improve your skills and network in another area of career you maybe interested in. 

This in term can result in further employment opportunities in future which may benefit an area of career you are gunning for.

In reality though, a second job is most is most likely a vital source of income and is encouraged if this is something you need.
