1. Do your research

Before you embark on your journey, you have to organise your accommodation, food, and transport but you should also plan your goals and aspirations for this time abroad. Make a bucket list of things you want to try while you’re there to make the experience even more special.

  1. Study!

It’s so easy to get distracted by the amazing sights, the lovely locals and the buzzing atmosphere, however, don’t forget what you came to do. Show up to classes, do your assignments and make the most of this opportunity.

  1. Keep a journal

This experience can be overwhelming, so remember to keep a log of what you did and how you felt to capture the moment and remember it for a long time. It is a great way to digest and make sense of the new experiences and situations happening around you.

There are many things to remember when studying abroad, but the main thing is to take in every new experience. And who knows, maybe this could lead you to land a permanent job somewhere overseas…
