With around 300 employees, CMAX is one of Australia's largest and most experienced clinical trial centres, located in SA's Bio-Med city precinct. Francescatalked about the multitude of career opportunities with CMAX, where skills in lab, data, nursing or administration are highly sought after. As the Clinical Project Manager "every day is variety, and it's a great place to work", says Francesca.
She tells us just how important Phase 1 clinical trials are due to the mandatory process undertaken to get products out on pharmacy shelves. Francesca also breaks down the misconception that clinical trials just use people as guinea pigs. “We all know someone suffering from some kind of illness”, which is why these trials are essential for getting the appropriate type of medication out to customers.
